We are very proud to say that we are the most reviewed Pediatric Dentistry Tulsa in America. Our pediatricians undergo specialized training for pediatric care beyond the required Dentistry practice. We want to make sure that our patients and their parents have a piece of mind knowing that we will make the experience of going to the dentist a fun, comfortable, safe place to go. Morrow, Lai and Kitterman Pediatric Dentistry is proud to say that we’ve been taking care of our community’s children in a comfortable and lighthearted environment for just over 20 years and we believe our experience shows it. Our goal is to help our patients recognize the importance of taking care of their oral health and that their part in taking care of their teeth is just as important as ours. Our goal is to inform and encourage our young patients to take care of their own oral health while in a fun environment.
Is it really that bad if we eat sugar? How harmful could it be? Well, at Pediatric Dentistry Tulsa we can confidently say it can be very painful and harmful in the long run. A cavity is created when we eat sugar, it mixes with the bacteria in our mouths and creates an acid that slowly eats away at the enamel on our teeth creating a cavity. If it is left untreated it could cause your tooth to decay and you could potentially lose it. This is one of the many reasons why we strongly encourage children and adults to visit a dentist at least every 6 months. Regular check-ups create routine teeth cleanings to make sure that your smile is staying healthy. We know that life can get in the way but it only takes 40 minutes for regular appointments every 6 months. Our friendly office team will be ready to schedule you when it’s time for your next Dental appointment.
Children aren’t born with a fear of the dentist in particular but it is a natural thing to feel for someone who doesn’t understand what’s happening or what’s going on. They may not be born with a fear of the dentist but humans are naturally afraid of the unknown. For many children a visit to the dentist office is usually met with bad experiences and memories. The dentist office can be scary, sometimes traumatizing for a child. At MLK Dentistry we create a family-friendly environment and we make it a priority to use pleasant, non frightening, simple words to help describe your child’s first dental visit and treatment. On our website we have a free activity kit that children can use to help them get familiarized with their teeth and create a healthy daily routine of oral hygiene. To help your child become comfortable and get excited about their oral hygiene health we recommend that you bring them in every 6 months to create repetition and proper care.

At MLK Dentistry Pediatric Dentistry Tulsa, our Specialist Team understands that sometimes the fear of going to a dentist can’t be initially overrun by kind gestures. We offer sedation dentistry that provides safe, comfortable dental treatment for patients with special needs. Commonly called relaxation dentistry, sedation dentistry is a method of managing pain and anxiety during professional dental care for the use of medication. We offer sedation dentistry to patients who have an overwhelming fear of needles or have traumatic Dental experiences and anyone else who would benefit from it. There are two common types of sedation in dentistry, one being oral conscious sedation and two being inhalation sedation. Your doctor usually will provide you with an oral medication that is safe and easy to swallow. Children tend to be given a liquid medication like Meperidine and Vistaril. The other form of sedation is inhalation Sedation, also known as Laughing Gas. All of these methods put you in a very relaxed and comfortable State without completely knocking you out. All of this to say, have no fear we will take care of you in whatever your needs are!
